I've made this wire wrapped necklace using silver-plated copper wire, gently supporting the amethyst whilst not detracting from its beauty.  The necklace is made from one piece of black organza ribbon and 3 strands of waxed thread.
 
Amethyst is the birthstone for February babies.
 
The stone and bail are a total of 2.5 inches / 6cms long, and hangs from a necklace which measures 18 inches / 45 cms with a 1.5 inch / 4cm extender chain.
